Fenway Park
Visit Fenway Ballpark Home of Red Sox Nation
Fenway Park and the Boston Red Sox team have become one of the most popular teams in Major League Baseball. A trip to Boston wouldn't be complete without a Fenway Park tour. Introduced on April 20, 1912, Fenway became the official baseball field of the Boston Red Sox. It was the beginning of the ongoing rivalry between the Red Sox and the New York Yankees, then known as the Highlanders. The biggest reason people visit Fenway, outside of being a Red Sox fan, is its history. When you hear names like Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Tris Speaker, Jimmy Fox, and Cy Young, it's hard to keep from wanting to sit where they've played. Even the infamous Bill Buckner is still a hot topic, although the past 2 Championships have toned down the hatred.

The Green Monster
There isn't really a monster at Fenway, well not a scarey one anyway. The Green Monster is the nickname of the thirty-seven-foot, two-inch left field wall at Fenway. When you come to Fenway, it's the layout that grabs everyones attention. The unique style of the Monster starts with it standing 37 feet high and only 310 yards from home plate. You will also find the manual scoreboard, the AL East standing, and various advertisements attached to it. Best of all, you can't find a better seat in the Park besides atop the Green Monster.

In the early days, there was a ladder placed in the middle of the Green Monster. It allowed groundskeepers access to the net where all Red Sox home run balls could be retrieved above the wall in Fenway. On a side note, the ladder has helped decide the outcome of a game on two separate occasions. Both times resulting in home runs
See a Game at Fenway
If you don't visit Fenway ballpark for the history, the Green Monster, or because you're a fan, go watch a Red Sox game because of today's prices. Considering the ball club is only a couple years removed from their last championship, prices have fallen down to a $12 starter. To be honest, you can't buy a bad seat in this house. Mix in the reasonable food and beverage prices and you find yourself having a great time at a low cost. In the end, you don't have to be a fan of the Boston Red Sox, or even know much about Fenway Park. The only thing that matters is you get to see a part of MLB history. Trust us, being at a game is much different than seeing the Green Monster on TV. The fence is short, the action is suspenseful, and the Boston Red Sox have become the best around in the last 5 years. This is baseball at its best, and places like Fenway Park is why it's still considered our favorite National Pastime.
