"One of the best tourist attractions in Maine"

Arcadia National Park is located in the state of Maine, and has been said to be one of the best Maine tourist attractions. You'll definitely want to put this on your list of things to do in Maine.

The nearby community of Bar Harbor is a tiny coastal resort town situated on Mount Desert Island.

You can hardly visit one without touring the other as well. This area is where you will truly get a feel for “Downeast” Maine.

Arcadia National Park is rich with the beauty of nature.

Majestic mountains, wildlife, towering forests, and the ocean all come together in vistas that can only be seen to be believed.

It’s breathtaking wonders will leave you swelling with pride over the beauty that is these United States.

One of the best times to visit Acadia is during the autumn.

The leaves of the trees are simply too stunning for adequate words. You will definitely want to have your camera handy!

Even though Acadia is a National Park, the entire land and concept was made possible by donations from private citizens.

The park itself was actually established back in 1916, but it has changed names several times over the decades.

There is so much to do in Arcadia besides take in breathtaking scenery.

The Wild Gardens of Acadia have over 300 native species of labeled plant life.

There are also manicured gardens as well. The Thuya Garden and Asticou Azalea Garden are wonderful places to enjoy the beautiful flowers and relax from a tiring hike.

The Wildwood Stables located on Park Loop Road even offer horse-drawn carriage rides through the park.

One of the most popular hiking trails in Acadia National Park is on Gorham Mountain.

Even though this is not the highest mountain in the area, because it borders the coast, the views are absolutely incredible. This hike is definitely worth your time!

Another interesting area to visit in the park is the Seawall. This is a natural loose rock and granite seawall located on the southwestern end of Mount Desert Island.

It’s a great place to watch the sunrise over the ocean!

Thunder Hole is a small inlet at the edge of Acadia National Park. It gets its name from the sound that is made as the waves crash into the rocks here.
